Banta Secures More Than $1 Million in State Funding for Local Community Projects

ERIE – Rep. Jake Banta (R-Erie) today announced more than $1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants will fund critical community projects in Erie County.

The grant awards are as follows:

• Amity Township: $366,735 to remodel the township’s municipal office and garage to improve energy efficiency, accessibility and community service delivery. The project includes upgrading the garage for better equipment protection, renovating the meeting room, replacing broken signage and constructing an ADA-compliant bathroom. These improvements will enhance spaces used for elections, public meetings and community engagement while reducing operating costs through updated building systems. Overall, the renovations aim to increase accessibility, extend facility lifespan, and present a safe, functional and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

• Franklin Township (on behalf of Central Erie County Paramedic Association): $246,495 to purchase a new ambulance for use in Mckean Borough. Central Erie County Paramedic Association covers approximately 116 square miles and currently has an ambulance that is 25 years old that does not meet the current EMS standards such as a power load stretcher which improves patient and staff safety along with improved vehicle safety standards.

• Leboeuf Township: $391,466 to purchase a new road grader, which will improve the operation and maintenance of township roadways and provide safer road conditions for all residents. The project will also benefit the community by providing cost savings to township residents with savings on contract labor and rental costs.

“Any and all funding we can put into our municipalities represents an investment into all residents of the 4th District,” Banta said. “I was proud to have shared my support for these three projects and look forward to the impact they will make on our communities.”

Local Share Account grants are funded through gaming revenues and are used to support economic development, community improvement and other projects that enhance quality of life for Pennsylvania residents.

The grants are approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency responsible for administering these grants and other state investments that promote economic growth, infrastructure development and community revitalization throughout the Commonwealth.
